Topic: Speech emotion recognition

Abstract: One of the characteristic, which describe speech source is emotional state. Information about the emotional state of the speaker can change a rough conversation of man and machine much more natural. Dispatching can use emotional state of man in action to achieve more effective management with orders depended on the stress situation. Agents of call centre can change behaviour to the customer. The keynote will deal with the state-of-the-art of the emotion recognition issues, databases emotional recordings, speech processing and selection of an appropriate classifier considering the extracted parameters.

Key Speaker: Miroslav Voznak (VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic)

Miroslav VOZNAK (born in 1971) is an Associate professor with Department of Telecommunications, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunications, dissertation thesis “Voice traffic optimization with regard to speech quality in network with VoIP technology” from the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, in 1995 and 2002, respectively.
He is a member of INDECT team conducted by AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow (7 FP EU project 2009-2013 under Grant Agreement No. 218086), the purpose of the INDECT project is to involve European scientists and researchers in the development of solutions to and tools for automatic threat detection. He is also a member of team Softcomputing involved in IT4Innovations, Czech National Centre of Excellence in Ostrava. He is author or co-author more than 70 results indexed in SciVer SCOPUS in last five years, with more than 180 citations and h-index = 8.
